We survived the ice storm thanks to our great neighbors Katie and Brian. Tuesday morning around 7:00am our power went out because of the ice storm. And of coarse school was cancelled! We all laid in bed for a lot of the day to keep warm. The power flickered a couple of times to tease us, but by late afternoon it was out for good. That morning soon after it had gone off Katie called to say that if we wanted to come over there we were more than welcome, so that afternoon I called and said we are on our way (we were getting cold and the kids were sick of laying in the bed!) We (the kids and I, Brett stayed home in the cold but quite house to finish a conference call ) went over and sat by the fire and the kids all played together. I came home to get our things to spend the night and the power came back on so I left everything ready sitting by the door, good thing because I walked back to their house and as soon as I walked in everyone said "The power just went off again!" Brett came over, we got all our stuff and camped out at the Dunns for 3 days. The kids loved it, camping out at their best friends house for 3 days! Jessie got a stomach bug on Wednesday night and the party was over, Brian and Katie took their kids to Lexington to brains parents (they never lost power). Brain and Katie came back Thursday afternoon and Brian had caught Jessie's bug at least it only lasted less than 24 hours. About 10:30 pm Thursday night the power came back on we waited until about midnight to go home to make sure it was going to stay on and to let the house heat up. We were out of power for 3 days and we are some of the lucky ones, there are sill thousands of people who don't have power 9 days later. School has not started back though hopefully they go back soon or we won't have a summer!!

Peyton's 2nd Birthday

It's a party, it's a party for Peypey!! Peyton loves Yo Gabba Gabba. She had a fun party, we made a Brobee cake, a Foofa pinata (all that hard work smashed to pieces!), and a Muno game(pin the eye on Muno). Jessie, Colton and Madison (Jessie's Friend) made Muno, Plex, Foofa, Brobee, and Toodee balloons they turned out very cut but I didn't get any pictures of them. We had a fun time and we can't believe our baby is already 2. If you noticed her black eye it was a Wii accident the little neighbor and Colton were bowling and Peyton walk right in front of him and got punched in the eye (poor baby and the day before her party.) And thanks Aunt Shara for the cute hair bows! HAPPY BIRTHDAY PEYTON!

Grandma and Grandpa at the reunion.

This picture is also taken on the 4th of July. Colton, Jessie, Grandma Betty, Papa Del and Peyton are standing in front of the mill in Floyd Virginia (I can't remember the name of the mill).
Grandma Shauna, Jessie, and Grandpa Byron standing on a bridge at the mill.
Brett, Peyton, and Jessie watching the 4th of July parade in Blacksburg Virginia.

After the parade we went back to the hotel and went swimming and took naps. Later we went and ate pizza then we watched fireworks in Christiansberg Virginia. Peyton was so cute watching the fireworks she was so excited it was fun!
